Dinosaur inspired toddler room

DESIGNER: NICOLA BELLOT

Brief: To design and style a Dinosaur themed room for two toddler boys. The boys are aged 1 & 3, so the room needed to be soft enough in its style to suit the smaller boy but still include elements for the older boy whose toys and interests have matured from those of his little brother. The use of a low-level bunk bed is a perfect choice for little ones as there is no need for step ladder to the top bed, and a safer option for little ones who are still not steady on their feet. The layered textures and patterns used to dress the window compliment the white backdrop, and the blue & green accents work well and give a nice fresh feel to the space.

Feature lighting used in various places:
The dinosaur ceiling light shade creates a soft glow at any time of day.
The leaf style fairy lights on the side of the wardrobe create a focal point to the grass dinosaur display on the top of the tall boy chest.

There is also a colour changing LED lamp located on the floor by the toy storage and laundry bag to create drama for those cosy Storytime’s in the evenings, and a little night-light highlighted by the volcano wall decal is all in keeping with the theme.
